I'm from Latvia and I bought this car at an auction for 4000 euros. My first impression was that it was not a complicated damage, only the front and rear bumpers, the hood and the trunk lid and the right side light would need to be replaced, but ooh boy, I was wrong.

4000€ ist ok, wenn da nicht sehr viele teuere Teile neu gekauft werden müssen, und Du in Eigenleistung oder günstig es reparieren kannst, und Du selbst das Auto für dich herrichtest, und es dir nicht so wichtig ist das es wieder aussieht wie neu. Darauf achten: unfallfreie Spring bekommt man schon bei 8000€

Vorne sieht er gar nicht mal so schlimm aus, hinten aber wie eine zusammengedrückte Cola Dose ... funktioniert er noch? Lässt er sich noch fahren? Wieviele Airbags ausgelöst? Achsen und Fahrwerk noch okay?

well, it turns out that the damaged parts are the most expensive :-(, because the car is quite new and there are not many used parts to buy and the dealer cannot supply original spare parts - they are not available.
Like the front radiator frame, for example. You can't buy it from the dealer, they don't have it, the junkyard doesn't have it, because all the cars they have, have front damage and that part is damaged. So I finally found one in China for 60 euros, but with shipping and taxes it cost 600 euros :-D.

It doesn't look too bad at the front, but at the back it looks like a squashed Coke can ... does it still work? Can you still drive it? How many airbags have been deployed? Are the axles and chassis still OK?

no, none of the airbags have deployed, only the seatbelts are blocked, so the car won't start. I need to reset the crash error, but to do that I need to find the crash sensor and replace it - I think so. The axles are fine

So I finally found the trunk floor at the junkyard, also for 600 euros, a trunk lid for 500 euros and a rear bumper with all the parking sensors for 300 euros.
Ich musste es in eine Werkstatt bringen, die das Schweißen und Lackieren durchführte, weil ich diese Arbeit nicht machen kann

Hauptsache der Akku hat nichts abbekommen.
Wenn das an eine Werkstatt ging wird es wohl kein Schnäppchen mehr sein. Und all die Teile für die Preise...Zumindest hier in Deutschland wäre das wohl ein Verlustgeschäft.

yes it still shows 79% charge but I can't charge until I fix the crash error but I don't know how. I bought a renolik adapter for laptop, it shows all the stats but I can't reset it - so I thought I need to find this crash sensor and replace it, maybe that way I can reset the error

Wow der sieht ja schon super aus!!!
Wenn Du Hilfe brauchst und Teile aus Deutschland kaufen möchtest sag bescheid, kann dir evtl. helfen. Ich denke das der Schaden weit vom Akku aufgehört hat.
Die Frage ist nich offen wo sich der Airbag Sensor befinden, weiß das jemand?

well, I didn't want to do business with this car, I bought it for myself. In our country this car costs about 13,000 euros used, I thought I could repair it cheaper, but we'll see

Hallo, endlich habe ich das Auto zum Laufen gebracht. Ich habe herausgefunden, dass es vorne keine Crash-Sensoren gibt, sondern nur 2 in den T-Säulen.

* 1800 Eur labor (mainly welding as I am not a mechanic and cannot weld)
* 1200Eur painting
* 150 Euro for evacuation service to and from the shop to TUV station
* 300 Euro for seatbelt repairs
* 120 Eur registration fee
* 3430 Eur in parts
Working hours – about one week in the welding shop and another in the paint shop
